Title: Paradise & Elsewhere
Author: Kathy Page
Published: 2014
Language: English
Pages: 128
Rating: 3/5
Summary:
This is a short story collection filled with dark fables balancing somewhere between reality and myth.
Review:
This was quite an interesting and strange collection of stories.
For me, it got off to a bit of a slow start, but in the middle of the collection there are some excellent stories. Towards the end, it tapers off a bit again. The writing in all of the stories is pretty solid though and rather beautiful. The stories are original and a bit dark and creepy, though some of them feel slightly without direction and purpose.
There's an atmosphere about this book that I really enjoyed and it does have a myth-like quality to it. Like I mentioned, not all the stories are equally good, but it was definitely worth the read.
