This was such an interesting read and delivers exactly what it promises.
This is wonderfully readable and so interesting. My mind was, on more than one occasion, blown. I especially enjoyed the first part about the older history. I do sometimes find newer history, especially economy, a bit dull, but this was not bad.
This book is well-written, intelligent and I think it will open a lot of eyes. It is only around a hundred pages, so there are bound to be some things that are skimmed over, but to me, this feels like a good overall view of the history of homo sapiens. I love reading about the development of culture, religion and the world we live in today.
I also especially enjoyed reading about how us humans are shaped by stories, how language was such a big part of making us who we are. I'd never thought about it that way.
The only complaint I have is that I felt I could see a bit of the authors personal bias from time to time, which I could've done without. If you are able to be a bit critical about that though, it's not much of an issue.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn a bit about our species and our history.
